Green, Before Green Was Cool.

Emerald Forest Incorporated was born in 1989 when the founder and current president saw a niche for a company specializing in the restoration and creation of wetland habitats. This need for a service was spawned by the requirements for restoration or compensation imposed by government agencies during the environmental permitting process. We decided to go green before going green was cool.

Today Emerald Forest has grown into a multi-faceted firm specializing in the restoration and creation of local native habitats throughout the mid-Atlantic region of the US. Our staff provides over 45 years of knowledge and hands-on experience in the fields of landscaping, horticulture, forestry, ecology and environmental regulatory procedures and permitting.

From our principal office in Chesapeake, VA and satellite office in Moyock, NC, we have been instrumental in the design, implementation and management of native habitats, stormwater ponds and wastewater wetlands in Virginia, North Carolina Maryland and Delaware for over 25 years. We provide our unique services to industry, non-profits, local municipalities, property owners and various agencies of State and Federal Government.

Have you ever crossed the Blue Star Memorial Bridge, (Dominion Boulevard), any of the Elizabeth River Tunnels, the Martin Luther King Parkway or the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel in Hampton Roads, Virginia?

We were involved with those projects!

Have you ever traveled the Route 95 Woodrow Wilson Bridge over the Potomac River, the Route 1 Bridge over Neabsco Creek, State Route 234 or the Fairfax County Parkway in Northern Virginia?

We helped make those crossings possible!

Have you ever driven on Route 288, the John Rolfe Parkway, Creighton Road, or the Route 95 Bridge over the Appomattox River in the Richmond/Petersburg, VA metro area?

Our work was partially responsible for those projects too!

Have you ever traveled west on VA Routes 58, 460, 64, or 66; or NC Route 64 or the North-South Corridors of Route 17, or Interstates 85 or 95?

Yup, we worked on those projects!

Have you ever fished, swam, or boated in the Chesapeake Bay or any of its tributaries; any of the coastal rivers and sounds or Eastern North Carolina or the Atlantic Ocean from Cape Henlopen Delaware to the mouth of the Cape Fear River near Wilmington NC?

We had something to do with that as well!
